If you live in Toronto and you don’t have a big yard—which, let’s face it, you probably don’t—you’re probably always on the lookout for places to take your dog where it can run around and feel free. Lucky for you, there are a lot of great places in and around Toronto where your dog can go off-leash. Here are four of them.
High Park is at the top of any dog-walker’s list of places to go. It has tons of scenic off-leash trails, as well as Dog Hill, which is the main dog area.
Withrow Park is a great place to take your dog if you live around Danforth and Logan. It doesn’t have fresh water in the fenced area, which is too bad, but it does have wood chips, which is great for rainy days.

While some off-leash dog parks have confrontational dog owners who can get annoying, Sunnybrook has good vibes as well as lots of room for your dog to run around off-leash.Credit: City of Toronto
Etobicoke Valley Park
While Etobicoke doesn’t have as good of a location as some other places on this list, it’s really large and there’s a pond your dog can cool off in plus there is free parking nearby!
